Format

The format of this program consists of exciting stories from all over the entertainment industry, exclusive visits, first viewing upcoming film and television projects, and live interviews with actors, musicians, and other entertainment figures and newsmakers.

The one-hour weekend edition, ET Weekend (known as Entertainment This Week until September 1991), initially offers an entertainment news recap this week, with most or all episodes then transitioning to the center (especially or exclusively) around some kind of special theme; although the weekend edition now uses either format depending on the episode, most commonly, the broadcast format consists of reruns of stories featured during the previous week's edition.
