Midway Studios Austin is a video game developer, founded as an Unavoidable Entertainment on March 23, 2000 and was acquired by Midway Games in 2004. Responsible for developing Area and Sequel 2007 BlackSite: Area 51 .
On August 11, 2008, Midway announced a game cancellation in development at the Austin site and houses between 90 and 130 Austin employees. In December 2008, the studio closed its doors, extinguishing the entire local workforce as part of a larger action throughout the company. Many of his former staff members have gone to other companies such as Retro Studios, Certain Affinity, and Night Games that are now gone.
