RFD-TV is an American cable and digital cable TV channel owned by Rural Media Group. This channel shows programs devoted to rural issues, concerns and interests. The channel name is a reference to Rural Free Shipping, the name for the US Postal Service system sends emails directly to rural customers. Production and uplinking facilities for RFD-TV are located at Northstar Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, while corporate channels & amp; a national sales office based in Omaha, Nebraska. The twin radio station RFD-TV is Sirius XM Rural Radio. RFD-TV also has a theater in Branson, Missouri where several variations show that the air in RFD-TV is filmed.
As of February 2015, RFD-TV is available for approximately 47.3 million pay-TV households (40.7% of households with television) in the United States. Currently performed by Dish Network and DirecTV satellite providers, as well as through cable providers such as Mediacom, Charter Communications, Cox Communications and Armstrong. It's not available in most Comcast markets; Comcast controversially dropped channels in many Western markets that support Al Jazeera America in 2013. In addition to cable and satellite coverage, RFD-TV is offered as an Internet television feed; the feed is currently paid and requires a paid subscription, with TV Everywhere said to be coming soon. It was added to Sling TV on April 4, 2017 as part of the additional "Heartland Extra" service. RFD TV is also available as part of the 'Live A Little' package offered by DirecTV Now. With an average of 136,000 viewers by 2016, RFD-TV has some of the highest exposure relative to availability compared to other "ultra-niche" networks with the same or wider distribution owned by big companies.

RFD-TV is the main network for Rural Media Groups. Launched in December 2000, RFD-TV is the nation's first 24-hour television network featuring programming that focuses on agribusiness, horses and rural lifestyles, along with traditional country music and entertainment.
By 2017, RFD-TV operates in a full-service format. The morning and early part of the daily syndicated news and five-hour news, weather (forecast service on the network is outsourced to The Weather Channel) and agricultural commodity market prices, in the basic format of the American cable news channel. An additional news broadcast airs during the curfew. The rest of the day and night schedules consist of horse-related magazines, rodeo and other Western sports, rural lifestyle programs, reruns of classical television programs with rustic charm, and music programs centered around country music, polka and southern gospels.
Infomercials, previously previously banned from the public network, appear during overnight hours. This network also displays programs that are mediated in the form of its Rural America Live calling program.
RFD-HD
RFD-HD is a high-definition feed of RFD-TV airs in 1080i resolution format. Instead of simulcasting RFD-TV, HD feed maintains its own independent programming schedule. The first channel began broadcasting in high definition in the fall of 2007.

Imus in the Morning
When Don Imus returned to radio in late 2007, after being sacked by WFAN radio in New York City after being accused of making misogynous and non-racially sensitive comments about African American players on the Rutgers University campus basketball team, Imus also reached an agreement to simulcast < i> Imus in the Morning on RFD-TV. The program is broadcast on channels from 6 to 9 am Eastern Time on weekdays, along with primetime airing of programs on HDD high-definition HDD channels. During most events running, news tickers are shown with the news of the day, similar to the one shown when Imus in the Morning is broadcast simultaneously on MSNBC. The simulcast video of the program ended its operation on RFD-TV on August 28, 2009, and moved to Fox Business Network a few weeks later.
The Big Joe Polka Show
One of the first programs to be aired on RFD-TV is the The Big Joe Polka Show , a variety of polka and dance programs hosted by residents of Omaha Joseph "Big Joe" Siedlik, which continues to be popular among the estimated network (approximately) 40 million households are available until the end of January 1, 2011. In 2010, litigation began between RFD-TV and Big Joe Polka Show '
The event was replaced by The RFD-TV Polka Fest on January 5, 2011, and aired during the same time. RFD-TV Polka Fest was replaced by Mollie B Polka Party , hosted by Mollie Busta in July 2011. On Wednesday afternoon, starting September 2015 displays a re-election selected from < i>> Big Joe Polka Show with the name Big Joe Polka Classics'
