Plot

The story is narrated by Lisa Janusch (Marla Sokoloff), a bitter and jealous cheer from Lincoln High School's B-squad.

Diane Weston (Marley Shelton), a popular head cheerleader of the high school squad of Lincoln, became pregnant by quarterback football star Jack Bartlett (James Marsden). Both moved from their parents' homes to find their own apartment. Jack initially had a problem at work, because of his unwise personality, but was eventually hired in a video rental shop. Regardless of the problem they came with the rent, Jack and Diane tried as hard as possible to survive while going to school at the same time. Lisa, Diane's heavy rival, sometimes runs to Jack at the rental shop. He was interested in winning Jack's heart, but failed to get his attention.

After struggling with the lease and anticipating financial difficulties in favor of the family, Diane and four members of the cheerleading squad, Kansas Hill (Mena Suvari), Cleo Miller (Melissa George), Lucy Whitmore (Sara Marsh), and Hannah Wald (Rachel Blanchard) the perfect bank. They promised each other not to tell Jack about their plans, because of his inability to lie to others.

The squad oversaw pioneering films to learn how to rob a bank, and Kansas visits his mother in a women's prison to find out where to find weapons. Following the advice of women, Diane and her friends visited the insect repellent, "The Terminator" (W. Earl Brown), who sold illegal weapons and ammunition. He refused to sell weapons to them unless they accepted his daughter, Fern Rogers (Alexandra Holden), in the squad.

The squad agreed to do it and they started practicing robbery, as well as their choreography for the winter ball. During the winter break, they order masks to hide their identities. Lucy withdrew from theft because she received a scholarship to Harvard. At Christmas, Diane receives an engagement ring from Jack. He then knew he was selling his GTO to buy him the ring. The squad was forced to buy a new vehicle, which turned out to be an old van with bad brakes.

At their first foray in the supermarket, Lucy returns to the group after deciding to help them. Lisa happened to be in the shop at the time of the robbery, and notices that they were doing a cheerleader action to cover security cameras. The squad robbed the bank and approached shooting customers after one of the weapons was released. They make a lot of money and celebrate their success after burning their costumes. Robberies reported on TV. Neither Diane nor her friends had expected Lisa to suspect her until they were confronted by her and squad B in a high school cafeteria, followed by the FBI.

Diane and her friends are in jail and need an alibi, so Diane promises to promote Lisa to the A-sku captain to keep Lisa silent, as she approaches the third trimester and can not do strict activities. The group was angry, but came to appreciate this decision. In order to cover up his actions, Diane tells Jack that he won the lottery and after they have their children, Jack wins his senatorial campaign, and Diane's squad leads a successful life after high school.
