Supernatural: Blood line is the proposed American television series, before being decided by The CW for the 2014-15 season. It's set to become a spin-off of Supernatural , with the twentieth episode of the ninth season this event serves as a backdoor pilot. The backdoor pilot was written by Andrew Dabb and directed by Robert Singer. The series is designed to explore "colliding hunters and monster cultures in Chicago".

The supernatural existence of spin-offs is being developed first discovered in an interview with Robert Singer at SDCC 2013. It was later revealed that the spin-off will be centered in Chicago, and focus on clashes. between the hunter and the monster faction and introducing new characters. The spinoff title was officially confirmed by The CW as the Supernatural: Tribe on January 29, 2014, the same day as the network announcing their new pilot slate. Then, the description for the characters to be displayed in the spin-off is released. On March 8, 2014, it was reported that the project had been renamed Supernatural: Bloodlines . Andrew Dabb spotted several television series spin-offs when developing Supernatural: Bloodlines, including The Originals Star Angel: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine , and NCIS spin-off.
An episode titled "Bloodlines" aired as the twentieth episode of the supernatural ninth season. In the end, the show was not taken for the 2014-2015 season. While the tenth season was later confirmed to be CW's top priority, Jeremy Carver and Eric Kripke later revealed continuous developments from other spin-offs, with different concepts with Bloodlines . Carver later clarified that another potential backdoor spin-off pilot will air in the eleventh Supernatural season as opposed to the tenth season. Mark Pedowitz finally clarifies Carver's comments by revealing that the spin-off will be discussed in June 2015. In August 2015, Pedowitz stated there were no current plans for other spinoff efforts but he is still very open to ideas in the future..
