Ownership history
This property was originally opened by ITT Sheraton in 1994 as Sheraton Casino and Hotel Tunica . In 1998, after ITT Sheraton was acquired by Starwood Hotels & amp; Resorts Worldwide, the casino was sold to Park Place Entertainment, a newly formed from the merger of Hilton and Grand Casinos. At this point, the Sheraton Tunica and former Grand Casino Tunica (later re-branded to Harrah's) first under the same ownership.
Park Place was renamed Caesars Entertainment, which, in turn, joined Harrah's Entertainment in 2004, soon after Harrah's acquired an adjacent Casino Horseshoe in a separate deal. To prevent the new merged company from having five Tunica nine casino markets, Harrah's chose to sell Harrah's Tunica earlier (now Resorts Casino Tunica) and Bally's Casino Tunica (now 1st Jackpot Casino Tunica) to Colony Capital.
Despite numerous ownership changes, the resort continued to operate under the Sheraton banner until December 14, 2009, when the name and theme of the Roadhouse was adopted. As a Sheraton, the casino/hotel features a black forest theme.
Harrah's Entertainment returned its name to Caesars Entertainment in 2010 and closed Harrah's Tunica in 2014, leaving Horseshoe & Casino and Casino are the only two casinos operating in the area.
In October 2017, property ownership was transferred to Vici Properties as part of a company spin-off, and leased back to Caesars Entertainment.
