In media

In the July 2006 article Variety article, Janice Min, Our editor-in-chief, quotes People for a cost increase for celebrity publishers. photo:

They are the biggest celebrity photo producer in the industry.... One of the first things they ever did, which caused piracy of photo prices, was to pay $ 75,000 to buy Jennifer Lopez's photo by reading the Us magazine, so Us Weekly did not can buy it.

It was the moment that fixed the expensive price of the photo in my mind. I have never seen anything like this. But they see a competitor coming, and answering. It's a business move, and maybe a smart move.

In a June 2007 New York Magazine article, Tina Brown was asked, "Do you really read the tabloids?"

Of course. I read everything. I like Us Weekly . I think it's a genius magazine. I'm a big fan of magazines that meet the purpose of what they try.

From a May 2007 article New York Post that illustrates the 50 Most Powerful Women in New York,

Janice Min Magazine, 37, editor, Us . With his mag-profit placed at $ 90 million a year and the number of readers up 191 percent in the last five years, Janice is not like us. Nevertheless, the success of Us is partly due to the mother of two children's reputation as being loving and likable - as well as its addictive features such as the new "Biz Biz", which ridicules gossip outside the base.

From his front cover appearance in November 1997, Courtney Love commented,

"I want to do some sort of mock-Eagles, decadent '70s kind of California-type, and I end up looking like Pamela Anderson on the cover! Bad, dirty Pam! It's horrible, but I do not do it on purpose and it's gone in thirty days. "

The magazine was criticized for alleged coverage of the Republican National Convention in 2008. The September 5, 2008 edition featured Alaska Governor Sarah Palin on the cover titled "Babies, Lies & Scandals", while the June 19, 2008 edition featured US Senators from Illinois Barack Obama and Michelle Obama's wife with the title "Why Barack Loves Her". Senior Editor Bradley Jacobs claims that the "lies" on the cover refer to an unnamed "liberal blogger" who speculates on the offspring of Governor Palin's son, not to the governor himself. However, nothing on the cover shows "liberal bloggers" are the accused liars. It was reported that the magazine had lost more than 10,000 subscribers. Since then it was reported that Us Weekly e-mailed to each customer, apologized for the cover, and promised to send five copies of free magazines to them.

In 2009, Us Weekly partnered with Involver to become the first media company to sell sponsors on their Facebook Page.
