Opened in 2002 with the Wild Horse Farm, the Mustang Farm was added in 2005, and the Wild Horse Farm was closed in 2011. The brothel was the subject of the 2003 documentary film Louis and the Brothel.

Lokasi

The property is located in a remote part of Patrick Business Park, in the far northern part of Storey County, at 1000 Wild Horse Canyon Drive, Sparks, NV 89434. The main access to this area is through exit 28 from Interstate 80. Nearby the settlement of Patrick, from where the Business Park takes its name (and inhabits their mailing address), is actually found on the Truckee River and thus is located in Washoe County.

History

  • Reno-area developers and entrepreneurs, Lance Gilman was given approval for a new brothel license by Storey County officials. The facility will be built inside a canyon box at the southwest end of Patrick Business Park at exit 28 of I-80. However, some tenants of the park have objections, and some legal battles ensued. Finally the dispute was settled for Gilman.
  • On June 7, 2002, the Wild Horse Ranch Ranch was opened for business in a temporary eight-room facility located on the property that would eventually become known as Wild Horse Adult Resort & Spa.
  • In May 2003, the newly built main house of the re-named Wild Horse Ranch was opened for business. The former temporary facility was renovated and became Residence Manager. The current gated entrance for the entire property also opens at this time.
  • During 2004, former Mustang ranch buildings were prepared for auction by the US Land Management Bureau, which had obtained their property after they were captured by the Federal Government in 1999. Gilman defeated all others for the building of the Mustang I broth the famous pink. That fall, he moved the buildings to Wild Horse Adult Resort & amp; Spa property.
  • On November 30, 2004, Gilman was granted a second brothel license by Storey County.
  • After a massive renovation, Lance Gilman World Famous Brothel opened for business on July 1, 2005. Susan Austin, general manager of Wild Horse, spends a lot of time, money, and efforts to recreate the luxurious old Mustang living room atmosphere. Reportedly, he could even contact the owner of former Mustang Ranch owner Joe Conforte, who years earlier fled to Brazil to avoid charges on tax allegations, for his input on renovations. The resulting facility combines many modern designs and operational features while retaining the luxurious decor of the Mustang's glory days. Due to ongoing court battles with David Burgess, owner of Old Bridge Ranch and Conforte's nephew, the right to use the name Mustang Ranch is still in a legal limbo state. "This old old edge on a new site" is simply called 'World Famous Brothel', a name resulting from the closing of the 'Mustang Ranch' section of the original sign (which comes with the building). In December 2006, a federal judge ruled that Gilman was "exclusive owner of Mustang Ranch trademark" gave him the right to use name and branding.
  • On 15 November 2011, Wild Horse Farm lost its brothel license and was forced to close. The license was revoked because Mr. Gilman had illegally had a silent partner, Tom Gonzales, from whom he borrowed $ 2.25 million for 5% ownership.
