VS-1
An external video selector called VS-1 is sold as an accessory for the Series II or III DVD system Lifestyle . It contains three inputs (component, s-video and composite) and output (either component, s-video or composite) for TV. VS-1 contains upscaler and allows each input to be selected using a dedicated button on the system remote control.
VS-2
Like VS-1, VS-2 is an external video selector that includes an upscaler. The main difference is the inclusion of HDMI and support for 1080p resolution. VS-2 has no audio back to the media center. So while it can receive full HDMI video, it does not receive HDMI audio, requires a separate audio cable (RCA, Fiber Optic or Digital Coax) from a 3rd party device to connect to Lifestyles media center.
