Carmen Domenic Licciardello (born January 19, 1956) known by his stage name, Carman , is a contemporary Christian musician, songwriter, rapper, television host, actor, dancer, and evangelist.

Biography

Carman was born in Trenton, New Jersey. As a child, he played drums in his mother's band, then as a teenager, he formed his own group. Around age 20, he moved to California.

While attending AndraÃƒÆ'Ã‚ Â© Crouch's concert, Carman became a born-again Christian, and embraced evangelicalism. In 1980, he made a special album titled God Not Done with Me . The following year, he was invited by Bill Gaither to tour with The Bill Gaither Trio.

After moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma, he released a fairly successful eponymous debut album (later published as Some-o-Dat ) in 1982 - which contains many novelty songs. Later, with the release of Sunday's live album On The Way in 1983, a series of successful CCM charts began, beginning with the title track. As he continued his musical career, Carman founded a non-profit organization, Carman Ministries. With the 1985 release The Champion came the first number one song, with the same name. Another live album, Radically Saved , appeared in 1988. Then 1989 brought Carman's first number one album, Revival in the Land .

Between 1987 and 1989, he was named Karisma a magazine reader choice for favorite male vocalist. In a photo post created on both official and personal Facebook accounts on February 14, 2013, Carman revealed that he has been diagnosed with myeloma and given a prognosis for only three to four more years to live.

At the end of March 2013, Carman announced Kickstarter campaigns for new albums and music videos. Not long after, he announced a forthcoming 60 city tour, noting that online fundraising campaigns had raised over $ 230,000 in a few weeks.

In December 2013, Carman has been in hospital receiving chemotherapy treatments.

However, in early 2014, Carman claimed a medical test showed his body was cancer-free. She plans to continue preparations for her album and tour of Live Across America .
