Jack and Meg got married on September 21, 1996 and divorced on March 24, 2000. In 2003, she had a brief relationship with actress Renà ©  © Zellweger, whom she met during the filming of Cold Mountain. That summer, the couple had a car accident in which White broke his left index finger and was forced to reschedule most of the summer tour. He posted a recording of his finger on the web for fans. The separation of White and Zellweger became public in December 2004.
White met British model Karen Elson when she appeared in The White Stripes music video for "Blue Orchid". Video director Floria Sigismondi says "you feel the energy between them". They got married on June 1, 2005, in Manaus, Brazil. The wedding took place in a canoe on the Amazon River and was unveiled by a shaman. A Roman Catholic priest then validates their marriage. Manager Ian Montone is the best man and Meg White is a maid of honor. The official wedding announcement stated that "it was the first marriage" for both. In 2006, the couple had a daughter named Scarlett Teresa. Their second child, Henry Lee's son, was born in 2007.
The family lives in Brentwood, a southern suburb of Nashville, where Elson runs an ancient clothing store called Venus & amp; Mars . Elson provides vocals on White's first solo record. The couple announced their intention to divorce in June 2011, throwing a "positive swing humdinger party" to commemorate the breakup. On July 22, 2013, a judge in Nashville banned White for having "any contact with Karen Elson except with regard to the time of parenting with the children of small parties." A counter-attack was filed on 2 August 2013, stating that "The reason for filing this response is that the White Lady does not want to be described as anything but himself, violence against his wife and children." The divorce was resolved on November 26, 2013. Elson then recalled the charges, linked the "aggressive" process with his divorce lawyer, and said "those who get the end of marriage help create a downward spiral on the most vulnerable." White agrees, saying, "When lawyers digress in a situation like divorce, their goal is to become a criminal." The former pair is reportedly still in good condition.
'Eccentricity'
White has been called "eccentric." He is known for creating mythology around his efforts; examples include his claim that Lines began on Bastille Day, that he and Meg were two of the ten youngest brothers, and that the Third Man Records were once a candy factory. This statement is questionable or unproven, as when, in 2002, Detroit Free Press produced a copy of both marriage certificates and divorce certificates for her and Meg, who confirmed their history as a married couple. Both the official address of truth, and Jack continues to refer to Meg as his sister in the interview, including in the documentary Under the Great Northern White Light , filmed in 2007. In a 2005 interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Jack alluded to this open secret, implying that it was meant to keep the focus on music rather than the couple's relationship:
When you see a band of two parts, husband and wife, girlfriend and girlfriend, you think, 'Oh, I understand...' When they're brothers and sisters, you go, 'Oh, that's interesting.' You care more about music, not relationships - are they trying to save their relationship by being in the band.
He has attachment to number three, which comes from looking at the three staples behind the sofa of Vladimir Kagan that he helps to coat his body as a disciple. His business often featured "three" in the title and he usually added "III" to the end of his name. During the 2005 White Stripes tour of England, White began to refer to himself as "Three Quid" - "quid" is English for pound sterling.
He maintains the aesthetic that he says challenges whether people will believe he is "real." He often color-codes his efforts, such as the Third Man Upholstery and The White Stripes, as well as Third Man Records, which are completely outfitted with yellow, black, red and blue (including staff uniforms). Controversy
On December 13, 2003, White engaged in a fight with Jason Stollsteimer, vocalist of Von Bondies, at the Magic Stick, Detroit club. White was charged with a humiliating mild attack. He pleaded guilty to lower charges of attack and batteries, was fined $ 750 (including court fees), and was sentenced to take anger management classes.
White has repeatedly referred to the conflict that erupted between him and fellow artists in Detroit's underground music scene after The White Stripes achieved international success. In a 2006 interview with the Associated Press, he said he finally left Detroit because, "he can not take negativity anymore." However, in an attempt to clarify his feelings towards the city of Detroit itself, he wrote and released a poem called "Courageous Dreaming Concern." In it, he expressed his affection for his hometown.
During their 2013 divorce process, Elson submitted a proof of White e-mail having sent him including disparaging remarks about The Black Keys. When asked about an email in a Rolling Stone magazine 2014 interview, White stood beside a saying that said, "I will hear TV commercials where the music tore out my voice, to the point that I think it's me.Am half the time, it's the Black Button. "He then apologized for the comment. However, in September 2015, Patrick Carney of the band posted a series of tweets stating that White tried to fight him in the bar. White dismissed the claim in a statement in the online magazine Pitchfork, saying that Carney should talk to him directly instead of on the internet. The next day, Carney posted a tweet that said, "Talk to jack for an hour he's cool. White tweeted on a Third Person Twitter account, "From one musician to another, you respect Patrick Carney."
On February 1, 2015, the Oklahoma University newspaper OU Daily took the story of the February 2 White's show at McCasland Field House which included the publication of White tour riders. Racers, especially the guacamole recipes that were included and the banana white ban behind the stage, received significant media coverage. It was later reported that in response to motorist publications, White's booking bureau, William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, had banned his actions from playing shows at the University of Oklahoma. On February 15, White released an open letter addressed to "journalists and others looking for drama or diva" in which he referred to guacamole recipes as his tour manager "in jokes with local promoters" and "just something to break the boredom" While criticizing journalists who wrote about riders as "outside of their element." In the same letter he forgave OU Daily for publishing the story and reaffirming his desire to perform in Oklahoma.
In October 2016 - after learning that Donald Trump had used the White Stripes "Seven Nation Army" in the video campaign material - White denounced the presidential candidate, and began selling T-shirts that read "Icky Trump" through the Third Man Records website.
Philanthropy
White has provided financial support to institutions in his hometown of Detroit. In 2009, White donated nearly $ 170,000 for the renovation of baseball diamonds at Detroit Park in southwest Detroit. The Detroit Masonic Temple was almost closed in 2013 after it was revealed that the owner owed $ 142,000 in tax returns. In June 2013, it was revealed that White had already placed the entire bill. To thank him for his contribution, the temple has decided to change the name of the second largest theater, Jack White Theater.
The National Recording Preservation Foundation received the $ 200,000 first prize from White for use to restore and preserve the worsening sound recordings in the media such as reel-to-reel and old cylinder bands.
