History

JYP Entertainment was founded in 1997 by South Korean singer and record producer Park Jin-young as "Tae-Hong Planning Corporation", which eventually became "JYP Entertainment" in 2001. Studio and headquarters of the US branch, JYP USA, officially opened in New York City in June 2007.
