Settings
The One Piece World is populated by humans and many other races such as "fishmen" (race of fish/human hybrids, similar to mermaids and mermaids), dwarfs, Minkmen (humanoid animal races), and giants. It is covered by two large oceans, divided by large mountains called the Red Path (
The ocean and sea weather off the Grand Line is very unpredictable, while the island's climate is stable. The magnetic field inside the Grand Line causes the normal compass to malfunction, making it more difficult to navigate, and instead of a special compass called Log Pose (
One Piece World includes anachronisms, such as Snail Transponder ( ??? , Den-Den Mushi ) , snail-like animals that can be attached to electrical appliances and serve as rotary phones, machines fax, surveillance camera, and similar devices. Dials (
Devil Fruit
( ???? , Akuma no Mi ) is a type of fruit that, when eaten , giving strength to the eater. A person may only eat one Devil Fruit during their lifetime, because eating the second devil's fruits will quickly end their lives. There are three categories of Devil Fruit; Zoan (
Haki
Haki ( ?? , lit. "Ambition") is the latent ability that every living creature in the world of One Piece has ; very few have managed to wake him up, and even less master it. There are three types of Haki: Color Observation or Spell ( ?????? , Kenbunshoku no Haki ) enables one to feel the presence of another being and has a limited form of prakognition. (This is a big advantage in battle because the user can foresee his opponent's attack). The Armament Color ( ?????? , Bus? Shoku no Haki ) allows a person to envelop body parts and even dead forms with a power similar to an invisible armor that has defensive and offensive properties. It also allows one to harm the Devil Fruit users. The rare color of the King of Conquerors ( ?????? , Ha? Shoku no Haki ) is a skill that, unlike the other two Haki, is just some talented person. (If someone is not talented, then no matter how much they practice, they will never be able to use it). The Color of the Conquering King allows one to overcome the desires of the weak-willed ones. It can be used to control the mind or even make the victim unconscious. Note that strong-willed people can survive, or even completely ignore, the effects of this Haki, even if they do not have this ability on their own. These haki can also have physical effects, such as causing tremor and destruction to the area surrounding the user. This shows that when used too much, Haki will stop working for a certain period of time, so it can not be used continuously. Maps One Piece

While working as an assistant Nobuhiro Watsuki, Oda started writing One Piece in 1996. It started as a two-story one-shot titled Romance Dawn <- i will be used as a title for the chapter and the first volume One Piece '. They both feature Luffy characters, and include elements that will appear later in the main series. The first of these short stories was published in August 1996 at Akamaru Jump and then at One Piece Red . The second is published in edition 41 of Weekly Sh? Nen Jump in 1996, and reprinted in 1998 in Oda's short story collection, Wanted! .
Oda revealed that he originally planned for One Piece to last five years, and that he had planned his ending. However, he found it would take longer than he had expected. Oda states that the end is what he has decided from the beginning; he is committed to seeing it.
When creating the Devil Fruit, Oda thinks about something that will satisfy human desire; he added that he did not see why he would draw a Devil Fruit unless the appearance of the fruit would entice someone to eat it. The names of many special attacks, as well as other concepts in the manga, consist of a form of forgery in which phrases written in kanji are paired with idiosyncratic readings. The names of Luffy, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, and Franky's techniques are often mixed with other languages, and the names of some of Zoro's sword techniques are designed as a joke; some of them look scary when read by sight but sound like a kind of food when reading aloud. For example, the motion of Zoro's signature is Onigiri , written as cut devil but pronounced the same as rice ball in Japanese. Eisaku Inoue, the animation director, said that the creators did not use these kanji readings in the anime because they "may have reduced laughter by about half". Nevertheless, Konosuke Uda, the director, says that he believes that the creators "made the anime close enough to the manga".
Oda "sensitive" about how his work will be translated. In many instances, the English version of One Piece manga uses one onomatopoeia for some onomatopoeia used in the Japanese version. For example, " saaa " (light rain sound, near fog) and " zaaa " (heavy rain sound) both are translated as "fshhhhhhh". Unlike other manga artists, Oda draws everything that moves him to create a consistent look while leaving his staff to draw a background based on the sketches he has drawn.
When a reader asks Nami a beloved Oda, she replies that there will be no reference to romance, as she believes the demographics intended by this series are not interested.

Originally, 4Kids originally created the English version of the first opening theme, "We Are!" It aired in the United States on September 18, 2004, in a first-run syndication on the Fox network as part of the Fox Box weekend programming block, and then aired on Cartoon Network on the daytime programming block in Toonami in April 2005. On July 22, 2010, anime interview with Anime News Network and Mark Kirk, senior vice president of digital media for 4Kids Entertainment, revealed that 4Kids earned One Piece as part of the package with other anime, and that the company did not filter the series before licensing it. However, once 4Kids realized One Piece was not appropriate for the demographics they meant, the company decided to edit it into a more child-oriented series until they had a chance to legally license it. Kirk says the experience of producing One Piece is damaging the company's reputation ". Since then, 4Kids has set guidelines, checks, and stricter balances to determine which anime the company acquires.
