SBE is a privately-held lifestyle hotel company that develops, manages and operates hotels, residences, restaurants and nightclubs.
Founded in 2002 by Founder and CEO Sam Nazarian, SBE's existing and upcoming hotel brands including SLS Hotel & amp; Residences, Delano, Mondrian, Redbury, Hyde Hotel & amp; Residences, Clift, Hudson, Sanderson, and St Martins Lane. In addition, SBE has the following international restaurants and lounges: Katsuya, Cleo, Bazaar by JosÃÆ'Â © AndrÃÆ'Â © s, Fi'lia by Michael Schwartz, Umami Burger, Hyde Lounge, and Skybar.
Dakota Development, a group of international real estate developers, and Disruptive Restaurant Group are subsidiaries of SBE.
In November 2016, SBE acquired Morgans Hotel Group added 13 boutique hotels to its portfolio, including New York Hudson, Mondrian and Delano brands, as well as Morgans Originals. After the acquisition, SBE owns and operates more than 20 hotels, 70 restaurants and 42 living rooms, and shares its headquarters between Los Angeles, New York City and Miami.
Nazarian retains majority ownership of SBE, and remains its Founder & amp; CEO, leads all daily operations. Although Morgans is a public company, SBE acquires it in a "take-private" transaction, and as such, SBE continues to be a private company.

Dakota Development, a division of SBE, has developed SLS locations in Beverly Hills, South Beach, Brickell, and Las Vegas as well as Redbury Hollywood, South Beach and restaurants and other places around the world. The Abbey
The Abbey is a bar and nightclub in West Hollywood, California. Originally established as a local coffee shop in 1991 by David Cooley, the bar was eventually purchased by SBE. This is one of the highest income-generating businesses in West Hollywood, California.
The Abbey has been featured in a number of television series that appeal to the LGBT community, including the venue of the original series of Wisecrack Logos. The club and its owner, David Cooley, also appeared in the Open Bar and Jacob and Joshua series of Nemesis Rising and The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency series. . Transgender actress Candis Cayne was featured on several lip-synch shows there in 2008.
Model and dancer Steven Dehler is a regular performer at The Abbey.
At the end of summer 2015, David Cooley announced that he had bought back his establishment from the Nazari SBE. Cooley announced the purchase at the iconic venue - Abbey Food and Bar, located at 692 N. Robertson Blvd. - during the birthday party themed on August 11th. SBE no longer owns or owns a majority stake in Abbey Food and Bar.
