A talent manager (also known as an artist manager, band manager or music manager ) is an individual or company who guides career professional artists in the entertainment industry. The responsibility of talent managers is to oversee the daily business affairs of an artist; provide advice and advice on professional matters, long-term plans and personal decisions that may affect their careers.

The role and responsibilities of a talent manager differ slightly from industry to industry, as well as commissions that the manager deserves. For example, the task of a music manager is different from that of managers who advise actors, writers, or directors. A manager can also help artists find agents, or help them decide when to leave their current agents and identify who to choose as new agents. Talent agents have the authority to make deals for their clients while managers usually can only informally establish relationships with producers and studios but lack the ability to negotiate contracts.

The talent management industry has been unified or organized in several forms throughout history. In the United States, a noteworthy early example is the Talent Agent Association, formed in Los Angeles, California in 1937. ATA quit the Wagner Law backed by the Supreme Court that established many unions and unions governing people who works in the entertainment industry such as Screen Actors Guild, Directors of America, and Writers Guild of America.
