Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Landry's, Inc. owns and operates over 600 restaurants, hotels, casinos and entertainment destinations in 35 states and the District of Columbia. Histori

Landry's, Inc., wholly owned by President & amp; CEO Tilman Fertitta, the original partner in the company's first Landry's Seafood, opened in the suburbs of Houston, Katy, Texas, in 1980. A year later, Fertitta helped open Willie G, a seafood restaurant in Houston. In 1986, Fertitta succeeded in mastering the interests of both restaurants. He became CEO and took public company in 1993, with an assessment of $ 30 million.

Under Fertitta's leadership, the company expanded. In 2010, it has become a majority shareholder, Fertitta acquires all the outstanding shares of the company, gains control and sole ownership. In 2011, the company's value has risen to more than $ 1.7 billion.

Acquisition and growth

1990s

Throughout the 1990s, Landry's, Inc., expanding, developing and acquiring restaurants, entertainment, hotels, and the gaming business. In 1994, Landry's, Inc., acquired Joe's Crab Shack. In 2004, Landry's, Inc. partnered with Galveston City to open a 140,000 square foot convention center, Galveston Island Convention Center at San Luis Resort. In 2003, the company acquired the adjacent Holiday Inn Resort Galveston - On the Beach. In 2004, the adjacent Hilton Galveston Island Resort was acquired. In total, San Luis Resort includes 700 guest rooms, 10 restaurants, and 200,000 square meters of event space.

The company's hospitality division also includes The Westin Houston Downtown at Downtown Houston and Boardwalk Inn at Kemah Boardwalk. In 1998, the company developed a 35-acre Kemah Boardwalk, with hotels; a marina; more than 10 restaurants; and dozens of middle games, amusement rides, and attractions.

2000s

After 2000, Landry's, Inc., continues to grow. In 2000, the company acquired Rainforest Cafe, a collection of forest-inspired restaurants and forest villages. In 2002, the company acquired three national restaurants, including Saltgrass Steak House; Chart House; and Muer Restaurants, a series of seafood restaurants.

In 2003, the company opened Downtown Aquarium, a 20-acre entertainment complex in Houston with an aquarium; a restaurant built around an aquarium of 150,000 gallons, from floor to ceiling; a bar; banquet facilities; amusement rides; and the middle game. Trains transport guests to a tunnel that passes through a 250,000 gallon shark tank. Other Aquarium Restaurants since it opened in Denver; Nashville; and at Kemah Boardwalk in Texas.

In 2005, the company acquired Golden Nugget Hotel & amp; Casino, with locations in Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada. Landry's, Inc., has opened three additional locations in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Biloxi, Mississippi, and Lake Charles, Louisiana.

2010s

In 2010, Landry's, Inc., acquired three new restaurants. Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, a collection of seafood restaurants, themed hit movie Forrest Gump . The company also acquired Claim Jumper, a national family restaurant chain. The Oceanaire, a collection of national seafood restaurants, is famous for flying with fresh fish every day.

In 2011, Landry bought two more restaurants - McCormick & amp; Schmick's Seafood & amp; Steaks and Morton's The Steakhouse. In 2012, the company expanded its entertainment division, with the opening of the historic Galveston Island Pleasure Pier.

In 2013, Landry's acquired the Mastro restaurant. The company has developed and acquired a restaurant collection called Landry's Signature Group, which includes Vic & amp; Anthony's; Cave; Brenner's Steakhouse; Brenner's on the Bayou; La Griglia; and Seafood & amp; Steaks. In 2016, Landry acquired the BR Guest restaurant brand.

In August 2017, Landry's acquired Joe's Crab Shack restaurant from Ignite Restaurant Group , which filed for bankruptcy protection on June 6, 2017. Landry's has sold Joe's to its Ignite predecessor in 2006. The Ignite Group also owned the Brick restaurant House Tavern Tap. It is also sold to Landry's Inc.

Properties

Since the 1990s, Landry's has evolved into a real estate owner outside of banquets and hospitality.

  • The Post Oak (under construction): Fertitta broke the land in a mixed skyscraper in Houston that will be next to the company headquarters. The building will include hotel rooms, residential rooms, and office buildings.
  • Post Oak Motor Cars: The company owns and operates Post Oak Motor Cars, Ltd., the official Rolls Royce Motor Cars plant and Bentley Motors dealer in the Gulf Coast.
  • Landry's Crawford Boxes: Landry's, Inc., has the naming rights to the left field bench at Minute Maid Park, home of Major League Baseball's Houston Astros. Landry's Crawford Boxes are so named because they are parallel to Crawford Street in Downtown Houston. Every fan who captures a home run receives a gift card for Landry's, Inc., a restaurant.
  • The American Tower: Landry's, Inc., operates Tower of the Americas, a 750-foot-long San Antonio, Texas landmark. At the top of the tower, guests can dine at Chart House Restaurant. Other attractions include the summer concert series; Texas 4D journey; and level of observation.

Aquarium

Landry's, Inc. has an aquarium in Houston, Denver, Nashville, and Kemah, Texas. All aquariums contain a branded restaurant in the Landry's Aquarium aquarium.

  • Downtown Aquarium, Houston: a public aquarium and restaurant located in Houston, Texas, United States developed from two Houston landmarks: Fire Station no. 1 and the Watering Center Building. The aquarium is located on a 2.4 hectare site at 410 Bagby St. in downtown Houston. It houses more than 200 species of aquatic animals in the 500,000 US gallon (1,900,000 I) aquarium. The complex includes two restaurants, a bar and banquet facilities. Downtown Aquarium in Houston is owned and operated by Landry's, Inc. and accredited by the Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA).
  • Downtown Aquarium, Denver: public aquarium and restaurant located in Denver, Colorado at the crossroads of I-25 and 23rd Ave. The 107,000 square feet (9,900m 2 ) main building sits on a 17-acre (6.9Ã, ha) site adjacent to the South Platte River. Freshwater and marine aquariums total about 1,000,000 US gallons (3,785,000 l), and show a variety of fish and other animals. Downtown Aquarium in Denver is owned and operated by Landry's Restaurants, Inc., and is the largest aquarium between Chicago and California. It is accredited by the Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA).
  • Nashville: Landry operates a 200,000-gallon Aquarium in Nashville that contains a variety of fish, sharks and stingrays. The aquarium operates the Aquarium-branded restaurant.
  • Kemah, Texas: Inside the Kemah Boardwalk (also owned by Landry's, Inc.), the company operates an aquarium and a restaurant.

Pier

  • Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier: Pleasure dock owned by Landry's in Galveston, Texas, United States. Opened in Summer 2012, it has 1 roller coaster, 15 rides, as well as carnival games and souvenir shops.

Boardwalk

  • Kemah Boardwalk: The company owns a boardwalk in Kemah, Texas. The Kemah Boardwalk, a 60-acre Gulf of Mexico park amusement park in Kemah, Texas, about 30 miles southeast of Downtown Houston, Texas. The boardwalk is built entirely along the Gulf coast of Galveston and Clear Lake, and is considered among the major sidewalks in the United States. The complex is owned and operated by Landry's, Inc., and is home to over 10 restaurants; collection of rides; mid game; attractions; a boutique hotel; charter yacht; 400-slip marina; and some stores. There is no charge to walk on the boardwalk. Tickets for rides can be purchased separately or all-day driving tickets are available. Restaurants on the sidewalk include Landry's Seafood; Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.; Saltgrass Steak House; and Cadillac Bar.

Casino

  • Golden Nugget & amp; Casino : In 2005, Landry's, Inc. acquired Golden Nugget Hotels & amp; Casino, when it has locations in Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada. Since then Landry expanded its brand to Atlantic City, New Jersey, Biloxi, Mississippi, and Lake Charles, Louisiana.

    • Golden Nugget Las Vegas: luxury hotels and casinos located in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Fremont Street Experience. This property is owned and operated by Landry's, Inc. It is the largest casino in the city center, with a total of 2,419 deluxe guest rooms and suites.
    • Golden Nugget Laughlin: an American casino resort located on the banks of the Colorado River in Laughlin, Nevada, owned and operated by Landry's, Inc. This tropical themed resort offers a number of restaurants; 300 guest rooms and suites; large casino floor; and special meeting rooms. Golden Nugget offers a water taxi service from Bullhead City, Arizona, across the river.

Seafood Landry

Landry's Seafood is a chain of casual American seafood restaurants owned by Landry's, Inc. It currently operates in 20 locations in eight US states, with many located near landmarks and tourist attractions. The Landry's Seafood first opened in 1947 at Lafayette in the local family kitchen. In 1980 Tilman Fertitta, chairman, CEO and sole proprietor of Landry's, Inc., opened the location of Landry's Seafood in the suburb of Houston, Katy, Texas. He then opened more locations, ultimately assuming control of the company's interests.
