Seattle PrideFest is the Official Gay Pride Official Festival held annually at the Seattle Center on Pride Weekend. The festival takes place on the last Sunday in June between 11 am and 7 pm. The event is used to take place in nearby Capitol Hill's Volunteer Park, but has grown on its residential location. It was decided to move the annual parade to downtown and the festival to the Seattle Center to better accommodate the ever-increasing presence. In 2007, Egan Orion of One Event Degree took over the Seattle Pride Festival just six weeks before the event was held to save the event and help preserve the move to the Center the previous year. 2008 has a record number at the Seattle Center with over 50,000 people attending on a 95-degree day in June, with over 100 vendors and dozens of sponsors participating.

    Future plans

There is a long history of successive plans for Seattle Physical revision. Since Seattle City Council approved the Seattle Center Century 21 Master Plan in August 2008, it has effectively directed physical changes on a 74-hectare campus. The 20-year plan sets 10 planning and design principles to effectively guide rebuilding. The first completed projects are realized through an innovative mix of public and private funding. They include: Seattle Center Skate Park, Broad Street Green, Seattle Weapon Center (partly complete), Theater Commons, Chihuly Garden and Glass and Artist in Play. In the midst of the 20-year duration, the Master Plan is ready to respond to some significant external changes, in addition to exciting new opportunities on the ground, to continue the physical transformation at Seattle Center so that this unique urban campus can continue to accommodate the needs and desires of more community wide for many generations to come.
