Mitch Garber (born September 5, 1964) is a Canadian business and philanthropic executive. He is the Chairman of the Canadian Investment, a government agency in charge of attracting, facilitating and negotiating foreign direct investment (FDI) to Canada. He is an active private equity co-investor with TPG Capital and Apollo Global Management. He is the Chairman, and co-investor of Cirque du Soleil, a TPG Capital company, since the acquisition of $ 1.45B in 2015. He is a Co-investor and Board member of Rackspace, an Apollo Global Management company, since they took $ 4.3B private transactions. He is co-investor and adviser to Career Builder, the Apollo Global Management company, since their 2017 acquisition. He is a former Co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Caesars Interactive Entertainment, and former Nasdaq CEO enrolled Caesars Acquisition Company. After obtaining a degree in Industrial Relations from McGill University and a law degree from the University of Ottawa, Garber entered into law in Montreal at the Lazarus Charbonneau firm from 1990-1999. In 2003 Garber engineered the merger of SureFire, then named Terra Payments Inc., with Optimal Group Inc., a robotics maker listed on NASDAQ and related equipment to form Optimal Payments, Inc., where he became CEO. In 2005, Garber led the spin-off of FireOne Group Plc from Optimal Payments and then floated FireOne at AIM London Stock Exchange, serving as Executive Chairman. Optimal Group's share price increased by about 300% during its three-year tenure as CEO from 2003-2006.

In 2017 led by founding founder Joel Leonoff, Paysafe Group, sold to CVC Capital Partners and Blackstone for 3.9 billion dollars.

PartyGaming Plc

In 2006 Garber became CEO of Party Gaming Plc, which at the time was the world's largest publicly traded game company with market capitalization, revenue, and player liquidity. He led the company until leaving to return to Canada in 2008.

Caesars

In 2013, Garber became CEO of Caesars Acquisition Company (CACQ), a registered branch of NASDAQ's Caesars Entertainment. Playtica

While the CEO of CIE, Garber discovered a recently established Israeli startup called Playtika. Founded in Tel Aviv in 2010, Playtika is the pioneer of social and mobile freemium games. In 2011, Garber led the CIE acquisition of Playtika. After that, Garber leads the acquisition of the next three social gaming companies: Buffalo Studios in 2012, maker of Bingo Blitz , the Montreal-based Electronic Arts World Series of Poker (Social) studio in 2013, to whom CIE has previously licensed WSOP social and mobile gaming rights, and Pacific Interactive in 2014, the maker of House of Fun . Through this acquisition, Garber put Playtika as one of the leading social and mobile game developers in the world. During 2011-2015, Playtika, led by Israeli game guru Robert Antokol, grew from 15 employees to more than 1,300 in 12 global offices.

On July 31, 2016, CIE announced the sale of Playtica to a Chinese consortium involving Giant Interactive Group, one of China's leading game companies, and Yunfeng Capital, Alibaba founding private equity firm and CEO, Jack Ma, for $ 4.4 billion. After acquiring Playtika in 2011 for approximately $ 100 million, Garber made it one of the most successful acquisitions in the social and mobile gaming industry, returning around 44x of investment. On August 8, 2016, this is the third largest sale in Israel's history.

He left Caesars on October 6, 2017 after overseeing a successful merger (CACQ) and Caesars Entertainment.

Cirque du Soleil
