Treasure Island Hotel & amp; Casino (also known as "TI ") is a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, USA with 2,664 rooms and 220 suites, and is connected by tram to The Mirage as well as a pedestrian bridge to shopping mall Fashion Show Mall. Owned and operated by Phil Ruffin.
The hotel receives AAA Four Diamond ratings every year from 1999 to 2013.

History
Treasure Island was opened by Mirage Resorts in 1993 under the direction of Steve Wynn and Atlandia Design (a subsidiary of Mirage Resorts) at a cost of US $ 450 million. The initial plan called for the addition of the tower to The Mirage, but later evolved into a complete complete hotel casino resort. Treasure Island was originally intended to attract families with odd pirate features and icons such as the skull-and-crossbones marquee strip, the huge video arcade, and holding nightly pirate battles at "Buccaneer Bay" in front of the casino entrance on the Strip.
The resort was originally designed by architects Joel Bergman and Jon Jerde in collaboration with Steve Wynn along with Roger Thomas who designed the interior of the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino.
In 2003, most hotels abandoned their pirate theme for a more contemporary resort that chose to provide adult facilities and services. Original arcade video and child-friendly pool area replaced with party bar, hot tub and nightclub. The famous cross-and-skull crossing marks at the Strip entrance are replaced by a dual-purpose "TI" tent that features the hotel logo and functions as a large LCD video screen. The exterior color of the hotel also changed from bright orange to darker maroon.
On December 15, 2008, MGM Mirage announced the resort would be sold for US $ 775 million to Phil Ruffin, former owner of New Frontier Hotel and Casino. Ruffin took full ownership of the hotel and casino resort on Friday, March 20, 2009.
On October 21, 2013, Siren IT pirate bout event closed to add a new multi-level shopping and entertainment center that opened in April 2015 with a 24-hour CVS as a major tenant along with Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibition, which opened May 26, 2016.
On June 18, 2016, Michael Steven Sandford attempted to assassinate presidential candidate Donald Trump during a political rally held at Treasure Island.
Movies and television history
- In 1994, shortly after the hotel's launch, promotional TV movie, Treasure Island: The Adventure Begins debuted on NBC. The movie, starring Jason Beghe, featured The Dunes blast.
- The Treasure Island sign is shown in the 2003 film Looney Tunes: Back In Action
- In the 2004 movie Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story , while Steve the Pirate was walking on Fremont Street, someone was driving while shouting "Back to Treasure Island." An alternative that ends in the movie is that Joes averages lose the dodgeball tournament, but gets their money back when Steve wins on Treasure Island.
- In the movie Miss Congeniality 2 , the climactic climax scene takes place in the lagoon, with the main character trapped inside the sinking ship.
- In the movie Beavis and Butthead Do America , the original Treasure Island sign, along with a pirate ship outside the hotel, was briefly spotted when Beavis and Butthead were driving down Las Vegas in a limo.
- Treasure Island appeared in the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas . In the game it is called "Pirates in Mens Pants" (a reference to Pirates of Penzance).
- In the movie Knocked Up, Ben (Seth Rogen) and Pete (Paul Rudd) see MystÃÆ'¨re by Cirque du Soleil at Treasure Island during their trip to Las Vegas.
- In the video game Driver 2 , Treasure Island can be seen at the Las Vegas level named "Pulau Pirates".
- In the manga and anime "Eyeshield 21", Deimon Devil Bats ended their 2000km "march death drill" from Houston, TX by reaching out and staying overnight on Treasure Island.
- In the NBC Las Vegas television show, the season's premiere ending episode 2 was filmed at the hotel.
- Treasure Island is often seen during the fly-over images of the Las Vegas Strip in the CSI mine-hit television drama series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation .
- Many shoots on the Las Vegas television show were filmed as if they were in Treasure Island.

Entertainment
The resort is home to Cirque du Soleil's MystÃÆ'¨re , which introduces the style of entertainment of Franco Dragone. The show opened in 1993 as the original Cirque du Soleil production in Las Vegas. MystÃÆ'¨re has been voted nine times as the best production show in town by a Las Vegas Review Journal reader poll. With IT sales, it is the only hotel on track to host the Cirque du Soleil event that is not affiliated with MGM Resorts International.
Treasure Island opens with a free "Buccaneer Bay" show on a large man-made lake overlooking the resort along the Las Vegas Strip. Served several times each night with great actor players, the show depicts the next landing and dismissal of the Caribbean village by pirates, which serves to draw the gamblers from the strip and to the casino after every show in the same way as its predecessor, the recognizable Volcano Wynn in front of The Mirage casino. Famous special effects include a fully manned full-fledged Royal Navy sailing vessel that sails almost as wide as from property, exploding "gas magazine" powders, fireworks, and sinks to the bottom of the sailing ship "Brittania" along with its captain.
In 2003, "Buccaneer Bay" was replaced with "Sirens' Cove" and a new show, "The Sirens of TI" utilizing many of its predecessor's technical elements. Free live performances are meant to attract more adults by including singing, dancing, audio-visual effects, naked pirates and attractive women in large outdoor events produced by Kenny Ortega.
The Sirens of IT is closed on October 21, 2013. The closure was originally intended for a while, but in November, it was made permanent, to the dismay of the event actors. The reason cited by Treasure Island is the construction of new retail space nearby.
