Tampa Busch Gardens opened on 31 March 1959 as a free admission facility for the Tampa Anheuser-Busch; In addition to a variety of beer dishes, they have a bird park and Stairway to the Stars, which is an escalator that brings guests to the brewery roof.
Busch Gardens continued to grow and, in 1965, opened the 29 acre Serengeti Plains (12 hectares), allowing African wildlife to roam freely.
